Maria Paula Ahumada created Recocha Vibes on September 25th, 2020. Recocha Vibes is a dance community centered around the belief that dance is freedom, power, and love and that all of this is connected to healing, growth, and tapping into your inner child. We offer dance classes which are not only about learning how to dance, they are also about giving yourself permission to play, laugh, and move because everyone deserves to. Essentially, our classes are centered around doing healing work through movement. Through social media we represent bodies that would not normally be considered "fit" in society. Recocha Vibes is a brand that is welcoming and shows that dancing and healthy lifestyles are possible for all bodies. Additionally, our community creates a safe space for women to grow mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually through dance. Recocha Vibes aspires to continue expanding their business globally and continue sharing the work of healing through movement.

Maria Paula Ahumada known as Mari, is a multi-talented baddie who is an influencer, coach, speaker, and model. She uses her gift of dance, passed down by her ancestors as a form of healing to support Women of Color in living a powerful and playful life. After leaving a fully funded PhD program and navigating the loss of her Mami, Mari followed her intuition and launched her business, Recocha Vibes. Combining her lived experience and research from her Masters program she centers movement as a form of resistance and liberation by helping Women of Color take up the space they deserve in this world.
For Mari, movement is not just physical; it’s a spiritual practice that allows her to honor her Colombian ancestry, create a space for her inner child to play, and build a pathway to living an intentional life. Her vibrant movement workshops, have constantly sold out all over the country and have impacted countless Women of Color by providing a safe space where women can release emotions, reclaim their bodies, and tap in to their inner light!
